1) Found that the vessel did not change the ballast water in ballast tank 3PS. The ballast water was taken in Gebze, Turkey, and pumped out in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. During the voyage the ballast water was not exchanged. Instructed the Master to familiarise himself and ship’s crew with the Convention's requirements before departure. 2) Found that the rescue boat is not fitted with a manually controlled exterior light. 3) Found the fire dampers in the engine room funnel not closing properly. 4) Found that the light to adequately illuminate the are of water in which the forward liferaft is to be launched was not ready for immediate use. The plug of the extension cord was stuck under stored rope and the electrician had to cut of the plug and reinstall. 5) Found that the fire damper above the stove in the galley was covered in grease and did not close properly.
